How One Step GPS Responds to Legal Requests

From time to time, third parties - such as law enforcement agencies or regulatory bodies - may seek access to Customer Data. One Step GPS evaluates all such requests carefully and responds only when we determine that:
  • The request is valid and legally binding
  • The request is properly scoped and specific
  • Disclosure is required under applicable law
  • An emergency situation justifies immediate action
We may reject, narrow, or challenge requests that are overbroad, improper, or not legally enforceable.

Key Principles We Follow

When reviewing requests for Customer Data, One Step GPS operates under the following principles:
  1. Customer Data is Not PublicOne Step GPS does not disclose Customer Data in response to informal, non-legal, or convenience-based requests.
  2. Disclosure Requires Legal AuthorityCustomer Data may be disclosed where required by valid legal process (such as a subpoena, court order, or warrant), or where disclosure is otherwise permitted under applicable law, including legally recognized emergency circumstances.
  3. Notice to CustomersWhere legally permitted, One Step GPS may seek to notify the affected customer prior to disclosure so the customer may respond or seek appropriate legal relief.
  4. Data MinimizationWhen disclosure is required, One Step GPS seeks to limit production to the specific data identified in the request and for the applicable time period.
  5. Customer is Often the Best SourceIn many cases, customers have direct access to their own data and may be better positioned to respond directly to third-party inquiries.
